More Geek Love
After the whole short fat hairy dwarf incident:
Me: Say something nice.
The Geek (not looking up from the laptop): You look nice.
Me (coyly): In what way? (and then just to encourage him along a bit) IN WHAT FUCKING WAY?
The Geek stares at me. I know he is still thinking about code.
Me: Oh forget it!
The Geek: Big brown eyes, red face...
Me: Red face.
The Geek: What's wrong with that?
Me: Red face.
The Geek: Red's my favourite colour.
Me (resigning myself to a life without conventional compliments): You just don't get it, do you?

My comic novel
Hmm, focus on the big brown eyes. Besides, your face isn't red; you had to photo-shop your nose red to impress people, remember??. I speak as a sometime acne rosacia sufferer.
My geek loves my 'sturdy legs' and big curvy bits, he says. Sigh.

Oh I do have a red face and when I drink red wine I go purple. Still - you know, favourite colour and all. There's a bit of rosacia in the family I think. When I was a teenager I used to plaster green goo all over it to take the redness away. It did. I was green instead.
hehe "sturdy legs and big curvy bits".
Ah well, celebrating eccentricity and all that. Can't preach it if I'm not going to take it...:) (Although I'm still wondering about the phrase "big curvy bits" - what a very geeky description!)

Oh for goodness sake! I even have to ok my own comments. That's it - moderation's coming off again.

I kid you not, that made me drop my biscuit into my tea. LOL!!

Yes, yes, I've tried the green!! Green creams, green zit stick type things etc!! My a.r. tends to focus on my nose, hence red/green blotchy nose (could never get the green to blend into the skin) and pasty rest of face. Am currently struggling with nasty red rash on neck - currently not easily identifiable - ar? hives? Possibly something new - eczema maybe.
Ah joy . .

I am pale blue. As a teenager I used to use this pinky pre-foundation toning cream stuff from Boots, which turned me slightly mauve. I should try the green stuff just for a laugh sometime.

They never work these creams do they? Sigh.
